When we came into the light, we grew hopeful that we would finally be treated as equals. Politicians came and spoke on our behalf, pledging themselves to defend the rights of our kind. We quickly became disillusioned as the hollow words merely led to hollow laws, easily overlooked and rarely enforced. We became complacent, happy to finally be open, and accepting our place as second class citizens. Then the big protests started, and same politicians who promised us safety quickly turned and declared they would stamp out the tiny menace plaguing their great nation. With our rights stripped away we were no longer citizens, but merely toys, pets, or even animals. Our acceptance of our place in the world turned to anger, and the tiny rebellion began. Our cries of protests went unheard, and soon we realized that peace was not solution. We sent out best hunters to war against the bigs, but our hopes were soon crushed beneath the enemy heel. Wave after wave of our soldiers were lost in battle, often with the enemy unaware we were ever there. Freedom for our people seemed hopeless, until one night a wandering big stumbled upon our savior... Lego. The big foot was no match for this plastic brick, and we soon began making greater and more powerful war machines to ride into battle. The enemy could no longer stamp us out, and our great numbers overwhelmed them. And that my friends, is why we celebrate Tiny Independence Day.
